Leadership & Soft Skills

The differences between leadership and management and how to confidently switch between both when you need to

Host: Katrina Dickson
Masterclass: Thursday 10 March 2022
Time: 12-1.30pm

Many think that leaders and managers are one in the same, and often we do use these terms interchangeably. Sometimes this does not matter. However, in other situations and contexts the differences do matter. The roles and tasks of leaders and managers are essentially different. An understanding of these differences can improve your capacity for both leadership AND management. This session will give you more confidence moving forward in any current or future leadership or management roles. This will have subsequent benefits for any organisation or social entity you are involved in now and in the future. This session includes a presentation and a facilitated discussion. We develop an understanding of the key differences between leadership and management. We reflect on the situations and contexts in which these differences are important. We consider the tasks of leadership and management, and how and when these may be necessary, enabling you to know when to switch roles as required. Following the session, you will be able to reflect on your strengths and areas in which you may wish to develop new skills through further learning and/or coaching.
