About Our Speaker Kathy:

Kathy has been a registered nurse for over 30 years. She has worked in Gynecology Oncology, High Dependency Surgical, Emergency, Anaesthetics and Recovery, and for the past 20 years in pain management. Kathy has a masters degree in pain medicine and has lectured all over Australia in the management of pain in acute and chronic settings. She has recently completed her 3rd year of a Bachelor of Psychology. From 2017- 2019 she worked as a senior case manager and return to work technical specialist for 2 major life insurers. In 2003 she established her own private pain management clinic in the Southern Highlands NSW, and implemented the first pilot pain management program in a GP practice, with great success. She established the Clinical Practice Guidelines for Nurses practicing in Pain Management for the Australian Pain Society in 1999. She was the Chair of the Clinical Practice Guidelines for Osteopathy Australia for 7 years. She is a member of the International Association for the Study of Pain Education Special Interest Group. Kathy has extensive experience in helping people conquer chronic pain. She also has extensive experience in education of health professionals and business management. In 2019 she was the winner of the Jobs For NSW Regional Pitchfest with her new business Amelio Health.
